MSC Meraviglia: Room Tour
On our previous family cruise we were in a Haven aft balcony on the NCL Getaway. I wanted to try and recreate some of that experience on the MSC Meraviglia with an aft balcony stateroom at about 1/3 the cost. I booked us on deck 10, Hagia Sophia. (FUN FACT! This deck is named after the principal church of the Byzantine Empire in its capital, Constantinople and was built between 532 and 537. Hagia Sophia means Holy Wisdom and represents a brilliant moment in Byzantine architecture and art. It became a mosque after the Ottoman Empire conquered the city in 1453.) Thank you Encyclopedia Britannica!
I’ve done a full room tour in the below video but here are my highlights:
1. A spacious room with plenty of storage for 3 people. The bathroom was modern and had plenty of room for all my toiletries and I love the glass door shower!
2. Number one feature of the room was the inset bunkbeds. The girls thought they were the coolest they have every seen (and they have bunkbeds at home) and didn’t take away any space from the room. The bunks also had their own storage below and on the side creating a perfect spot for each kiddo to have their own drawers. They also had their own shelf behind the head of the bunk to store toys and books and tablets and there were outlets for them to charge their tablets. Truth be told they ended up in my bed several nights but the bunks were the best spot for post-pool or beach time to chill and relax.
3. The balcony was phenomenal. Very large, two loungers, two chairs and a small table. This was a fabulous location to sit and chill in the morning or at the end of the day. I would sit out on the balcony while the girls had downtime in late afternoon and enjoy the incredible aft views whether at sea or in port. Also a great tip for families with littles – this is where we applied sunscreen every morning! No sunscreen film in the cabin or trying to drag them back to the pool loungers to apply. Great for sipping coffee in the AM or a glass of prosecco before dinner or before heading to bed.
4. Our cabin steward was just the absolute best. We had an issue with a door handle that kept coming off and he had it fixed in less than a day! Room was always spotless after cleaning, and I only had to ask one time on our first day for more towels and he made sure we had plenty of towels every day. He was also very kind to my girls so A+++!
Overall if we sail the Meraviglia again I would 100% book this room again if $$$ was not an issue. Absolutely worth it!
