Review: NCL GEM - The Broadway Cruise with my Marist College Crew!
Having been bit by the cruise bug before we even sailed as a family in August 2022, somehow I convinced my very best friends from Marist College to come on a charter cruise with Sixthman entitled The Broadway Cruise! I am a very lucky girl. It was the first ever Broadway Cruise and having studied drama in college and being a huge fan, I thought, this would make a great girls trip. So, at 9pm on a random Wednesday night I texted my 3 BFFs from Marist College and within 5 minutes each had texted that they were IN!
Charter Cruises – there were a few surprises
Having never done a charter cruise there were a couple of things that were “surprises” – the typical NCL “free at sea” program was NOT included in the cost of the charter. We had to purchase the drink package and Wi-Fi separately and it was expensive (but it was worth it with this group of college buddies who really enjoy their cocktails :-). Just something to note if you are considering a Sixthman or charter cruise on another line.
No planes! Only Trains and Automobiles
All 4 of us live in the tri-state area. Kristen and I are in Bergen County, NJ and Sheila is from upstate and Chris is from Long Island so travel to the NYC terminal was not an issue and we avoided the added costs of airfare and extra travel days which would have meant more time away from my girls.
